The vibrant colour of the flower helps it to stand out from the many tones of green in the background. The butterfly adds some nice warm tones to the image. Focus and composition are spot on. I would prefer to see the full flower and it may have been possible to move the leaf that cuts across the
front of the flower, also I think a vignette added in photoshop would focus more attention on the flower and also darken town the very bright green leaf coming from the front right of picture. Overall a very pleasing image well seen and captured

No problem Anne,

I think the comment was very fair, except for the suggestion that the leaf covering part of the flower, be moved. This would be ok if the butterfly was not an important part of the picture. :-) I cant see the butterfly staying there while the leaves were fiddled with. :-)

Thats why I used the word may, it also depends on the time of day it was taken as they are very docile creatures in the morning before they warm up, in fact a lot of nature photographers catch butterflies during the day and store them in a fridge overnight and place them in the "perfect" background in the moening to shoot them.I suppose also I was talking about the perfect situation which as we all know too well doesnt really exist especially when we are out and about with our cameras :)
