Those look fab! I'm going to ask silly questions: When you put together your display for the judges does it have to follow a theme? Or can it be more like a portfolio with random themes and styles? A 1000 Euros is pretty steep but money well invested! I should ask my co-worker if Japan has any kind of qualification like this. He is a pretty hard core nature photographer and is always entering (and sometimes winning) contests.

Yeah it is best that the photographs sit together as a panel, even as far as keeping them all b+w or colour. the panel also has to flow from right to left ( in the western world at least ) so care has to be taken in placement of photographs within the panel, The 1,000 Euros covered the printing but as I was able to use the same panel for the British and Irish Fellowship awards and 12 of the images for the QEP award I got good value out of it :) Therer was also the Entrance fees for all Awards plus postage for the British and QEP awards so i suppose all in all it probably came closer to 2,000 when all is said and done, I will be framing the Prints when I get them back from the U.K. and exhibiting them so hopefull I will make some sales to help cover the cost as each image will be sold at 300 euro. Most Countries have a Professional Photography Association but you can also become an Overseas Member of U.K. Associations i.e. The Master Photographers Association (M.P.A.) and enter their Competitions

Cheers for that info! I will have to look into the overseas membership. I talked with my co-worker but he said that it has just recently been introduced to Japan and that only pros are applying for it. (Please remember my Japanese isn't perfect and something may have been lost in translation! :D )

I hope you do well with the exhibition and sale of the shots!

All of the Associations are only open to full time Pros but the SWPP in the U.K. will accept semi pros and they have monthly competitions and they are only 99 euro for international members per year

Once I clear a little room on my plate, I will have to look into the international membership. Thanks for the info! :D
